Episode #22 - Good Luck, Bad Luck, and A Cheeky Monkey

The craziness doesn’t stop as the Beans continue their adventures traveling around Thailand! Whit and Karl momentarily separate from M&M, who decide to stay an extra day in Phuket, and our beloved Beans make their way to the tropical island paradise of Koh Phi Phi. The beginning of their day involves a streak of good luck and honest generosity, much unlike the previous day experienced by our traveling team.  It, unfortunately, all takes a turn in a matter of seconds, and the Beans release one of their favorite travel stories, involving a day at the beach and a pack of furry jungle pirates.

Episode #21 - Sketchy Wooden Plankiness, Drug Cocktails, and Country-fried Water.

The Beans are back again! This week will cover our duo, along with M & M (Karl’s younger brother Martin and his girlfriend Megan), making their way from Bangkok to Koh Pha Ngan to witness the craziness that is the Full Moon Party, and afterward (eventually) to Phuket. There is a vast array of transportation taken and new forms of scams and tricks presented to our traveling team. It’s everyone’s first experience being on a tropical island, and there are long nights with stretches of time involving little sleep. The section in this timeline definitely takes a toll on everyone and pushes our friends’ level of patience to the limit. They ultimately persevere and make their way to the coastal city of Phuket, but are forever changed. There are heaps of giggles and fun recollecting crazy events and memories being hot and tired in humid foreign lands.

Episode #20 - Our First "Baby-sode".

Hey there everyone! We've got our first-ever "Baby-sode"...which means that it's a lot shorter than all our other episodes. It will be taking the place of our upcoming full-length episode that is usually published every Friday. We are going to be attending M & M's (Karl's Brother Martin and his fiancé Megan) wedding this coming Saturday, and are going to be traveling to Stanley Idaho to partake in all the festivities. Can I get-a-Whoop!? So, I figured that we could put out a little update episode. We are gearing up for our next big adventure, and are trying to get all our ducks in a row to do so. Karl is currently in New York, and on his way back to Boise, so it's just one "Bean" in today's Pod...cast episode. Hope you enjoy all the upcoming adventures discussed by myself and are getting as excited as we are for all the travels yet to come. It's quite the lifestyle shift, and even though we've done it before, it's never easy to just pack up and go...at least we're finding out on our second go-round.

Episode #19 - Bangkok Pt. 2: Eating Bugs, Drinking Buckets, and A "Rasta Baby".

Y'all Ready for this!? The Beans are back with more crazy stories from their time spent in Bangkok. They are awaiting M & M's arrival and familiarizing themselves with the city by getting around mostly on foot. They spend some time with locals, old friends, and family once they arrive. In this episode, you'll hear; all about how to get around the city, and which might be the best way for your ideal budget, what unique fruits and street foods this city has to offer, and what are some must-do's to say you've truly experienced Bangkok. Eat some bugs, drink some crazy bucket concoctions, avoid scams, find some good eats, wander the streets, dodge taxis, and laugh at some hilarities that come along with this extremely colorful portrait that we paint of our time spent in the heart of Thailand's Capitol.

Episode #18 - Bangkok part 1: Scams, Sexy Chopsticks, and Our Friend “Blotus”

Welcome back travel comrades! Join us this week as we make the long jaunt over to the land of smiles. . . Thailand! This week the Beans arrive in Bangkok and are met head-on with all its crazy-ness. Culture shock and stimulation overload ensue shortly after they touch down on the new continent, and our duo’s travel skills are put to the test on an entirely different level as they are introduced to such a foreign and new way of life. But going with your gut and being aware of your surroundings helps the Beans adapt to confronting new encounters and conflicts in this unfamiliar locale. Episode #17 - Montenegro part 2: Sweaty Hikes, Walled Old Towns, and Staring Down A Loaded Barrel

The Beans are back again, and this week covers their remaining time in Montenegro! There are more lazy sun-filled days of relaxing along the beautiful Adriatic coastline, as our traveling couple continues to fill their need of travel reprieve. They make their way full circle and end up back to the city they arrived in a month prior, Tivat. Episode #16 - Montenegro part 1: Time Travel, Aliens, and MURDER!

Welcome back to another episode, where our traveling Beans are introduced to country number 6. . . Montenegro! With our duo's pace of travel becoming exhausting and needing a reprieve from the always-on-the-go, they sum up their basic demands of finding somewhere that can offer sun, sand, and is easier on the wallet. Montenegro fit the description, and with the Beans now in their third month of traveling abroad, they head to the Montenegrin coast along the beautiful Adriatic Sea to relax and slow things down a bit. They book out 5 nights in 5 cities and work their way up the coast heading back and coming full circle to the airport they arrive at. In this episode, we cover the first 2 cities visited and experience a serious language barrier, a run down 70's hotel stay, the thickest of Turkish coffee, massive meat platters, bloody mattresses, urinating/defecating children, Montenegrin Madonna, co-coro's and chara-churra, Peruvian flute Wonderwall, and much more! Episode #15 - Here's the Scoop...Doughy! (Our return to England)

Welcome back to another episode involving the Beans continuing their adventures and returning to England! We stop over at a couple new cities during our second visit and meet up with some familiar faces from the Camino. There's a quirky hostel which makes a unique but lasting impression due to coffin and bowl beds, among a list of other reasons, which are at the time collectively and unknowingly transitioning our Beans' brains to hostel life abroad. New experiences are had by staying in a Muslim area, giving a different vibe and flavor to Ye Olde Towne of London, where our fellow Beans experience some new culture, LATE nightlife, some delicious Egyptian food, and a long line of hookah bars. We also take a trip down memory lane with a visit to an 80's pub and are entertained by a group of "geezy hens", and have a delightful lazy day getting wine drunk and watching "The Way". All this and more await you in this fun episode! Thank you all for joining in and listening to us retell our tales of life living out of a backpack.

Episode #14 - "Cover Them Nips, Hide Your Chicken, and Bend Backwards to Kiss The Stone".

Come join the Beans as they re-live their remaining time in Ireland. They travel down to Cork and experience a quirky old-school hostel with a ridiculously powerful shower head, a spontaneous night out on the town, interactions with helpful locals and friendly Irish hospitality, castles, folklore and some of the dampest of "summer" days. They also make their way to Kilkenny and experience a haunted witch pub, poo-poo vents, middle of the night bus rides, getting emotional during a kids movie, unfortunate train transfers, and coming full circle back to London via Dublin.

Episode #13 - I've Bean Wondering...

Get to know our Beans in this special edition interview episode. We wanted to allow you guys to get to know us a little better, so we thought of some good questions to ask one another for our first ever on-air interview. You'll find out about our introductions into traveling, what impacted us the most throughout our trails, and finally the breakdown "in a nutshell" where we went on our 18-month journey. What is our favorite; meals, flags, countries, moments, and all around experiences over the years. You'll also find out a little bit more about our upcoming travel plans, and how "spazzily giddy" we are in our days of "counting down the sleeps" until we hit the road again.
